Harpies
Lava forms upon the Earth,
As day begins to break.
Screeches sound across the skies
And ground begins to shake.
Beasts with fur rampage around
Looking for a feast.
Their eyes are red.
Their bodies brown.
Some odd mixture of man and beast.
Born of man and bird combined,
They fly above the ground.
Combing for signs of anyone,
Who run around to be found.
And when they find what they seek,
They strike with lightning pace.
No man or woman can escape
Their gaze from up above.
So if you go a running,
And feel the monster’s stare,
You’re dead and gone,
Forever mourned.
