Harshly Broken

You tell me things I don’t want to know, I try not to let it show It’s killing me inside, feels like my heart abruptly died Carelessly harshly smashed, I was on top of the world only to crash Picking them up counting what’s missing, memories hissing I’m still sitting here asking why, why, why Your feelings and everything I knew blew out the window How did you stop so suddenly? When did things change; where can I go? Tears consumed once bright eyes, frantically attempting to uncover lies Heavy air, no one is there to bring much needed loving comfort I ran as though I may see you emotions blurred my distorted view Questions filled my blank, numb mind - gasping completely confined I’m still sitting here asking why, why, why Your feelings and everything I knew blew out the window How did you stop so suddenly? When did things change; where can I go? Waking every morning dreading another lonely day trying to hear the words they say You find your way into every dream all I can do is let out a piercing scream I was supposed to be your girl; remember the way we danced and twirled? Running out of breath... tell me this won’t be my death I’m still sitting here asking why, why, why Your feelings and everything I knew blew out the window How did you stop so suddenly? Broken promises, broken heart, broken hopes, broken dreams, broken girl
