Has Society Really Changed For the Better?

Why has society changed so much? People say things have changed for the better, but is that really true? Technology has advanced, but common sense hasn’t. America is trapped in its thinking. We don’t think of what others lives are like outside of our country. Many people in the world don't have electricity, we turn the AC on all day in the summer. Many people in the world don't have clean water, we literally shit in it. Many people in the world struggle to find food, our restaurants throw it in the garbage every day. Singing isn’t as pure as it was before, autotune mutates our voices to sound better. We are so caught up in reality TV. Why are we watching a hillbilly girl called Honey Boo Boo living her life, when we aren’t even living our own? Crime and corruption have gone up. The good old days are behind us, my dad always says. Why are we living in such great houses and buying such great things when supposedly most Americans are in debt? Our ways need to change, because pretty soon, we will have dug a hole that we can never get ourselves out of.
