hashtag no filter
I am freckles in the sun which I try to cover.
I am bags under my eyes which I apply concealer and thirty four percent brightness to in hopes of hiding.
I am a zit on my nose which rudely interupts my daily selfie routine.
I am smeared mascara after a long day that is screaming to be removed.
Yet, here I am claiming I am "hashtag, no filter."
How amusing.
How abusing.
How selfish of me to keep all of my insecurities to myself,
I find my activities becoming filtered.
I find my words and phrases made up of quotes from famous vines.
This is not me, but I still claim
"No filter"
Why do I gain so much gratitude by saying "no filter"?
As if the world owes me something because I skipped applying Valencia, X-Pro II, or Toaster to my picture?
I am not courageous because I claim to not use a filter,
I am courageous when I put my blemishes on a pedestal for all to see.
I am a revealing of smeared mascara, a zit on my nose, bags under my eyes and freckles on my face away from being courageous.
All it takes is
"#Nofilter"
