Hate
Carving words on her skin
She feels the hate
From everyone again
All of it all at once
She cries not because of the blood
But because the hurt that the words
Had caused when they left the mouth
Of the stranger who passed by her
And her teacher who has made even
An innocent, ignorant comment
Her older sister who has always said the same word
But it still hurts every time she says it
The 'friend' online who says something
To be funny or be cool
But isn't funny at all
The passive overlooking glance
Of her mother who doesn't approve
That tells her just how disappointing
And disgusting she really is
Her father who says
"There's no wonder why you're like that"
When she put too much or too little on her plate
Her little sister asking innocently
Why she's bigger than her oldest sister
And the little brother who yells
"FAT"
Because he got in trouble
And he thinks it's her fault
Just like everything else
Everything all together making her
Hate herself almost as much
As they all hate her.
