Hate

Hate is such an evil thing,

it does nothing but destroy,

many times it is the first thought to so many girls and boys.

We are all so very different, and in that sense we are the same.

Yet bigoted words and racial slurs fill so many of us with shame.

Hate breaks down all we build

it will consume the world in flames,

yet even in the face of the evidence,

too many deny the pain.

It's our differences that makes us stronger,

only if we allow it does it makes us weak

and far too many shackled minds

keep us from the answers we all seek.

Hate is the opposite of everything,

that we were meant to understand.

How many times has hate taken from us

and needed a helping hand?

It is gruesome and vindictive

unattractive in every way,

but thanks to those shallow minds

hate lives on, it thrives,

it is here to stay
