Hate

It rushes through me Rising slowly, becoming more powerful Feeding on my insecurities It becomes anger, then exasperation Droplets fall, drizzle at first Then it rains a storm I ache, everywhere I am afraid of it yet i embrace the rush it brings My fists fall under its command My mind looses all sense My body, becomes its puppet No matter how hard you try to escape it Its grasp does not loosen Until revenge is taken In order to control it One's heart must be forgiven

I agree that empathy is the best way of controlling it. I like the metering throughout.

Hate is an emotion we all feel yet never have the courage to talk about. It is better to discuss it rather than let it build up inside of you. I felt that through this poem, people could relate to various times when hate overcomes them and help them remember that the best rout to take in that situation is always one towards forgiveness.
