Hate Mail to Society

Dear Society,

I want to first point out that I’m not enjoying my stay,

I want to be myself but you’re saying, “No, not in that way!”

I want to love my body but you’re tearing me down,

I want to be able to smile but you bully me, and wonder why I frown.

I don’t want to be worthless despite your beliefs, so I’m not making a sound,

I want you to be crying as I’m being buried in the ground.

I want to fall involve with someone that I want, not someone that you choose,

I want to have my opinions without you harassing my views.

I don’t want to be scared and I do not want to be deceived,

I want to not be here, but there’s no way for me to leave.

I want to break your norms, I want to set me free,

because I feel lovely the way I was created to be.

You were never crushed, you were never broken,

This is how you’ve always spoken.

So stop with the harassment, stop with the labels,

and keep a close eye on me as I try to turn the tables.

Your words are unkind, your words are hurtful,

So be careful society. My vendetta is not merciful.
