Hate U Give--The Game of Shadows
You claimed to have my shadows
You claimed to have my sorrows
You claimed to have won the game of shadows
You are the fool
I am not a tool
I am not the fool
Those shadows you have claimed are only part of the game
Those sorrows you have claimed will be your greatest shame
Welcome to the real game
You ran out of life
You tried to destroy me with my own knife
You failed to destroy my life
You said you no longer desire to play
You no longer had a choice rather or not to stay
It's my turn to play
You said it's not fair
You'd rather I just cut the hair
You were the first to say life isn't fair
I hid for so long my torture behind a carefully sculpted mask
Sadly the mask was not enough for the task
You forced the demons to steal my mask
You dare think you could of won
My spirit is not done
I have won
You claimed to have my shadows
You claimed to have my sorrows
But you didn't win the game of shadows
I am glad I won but it's a sad day
You pushed a demon into play
I hope I can return to who I was before this day
I've made you pay your hatreds price
Now its time for me to roll the dice
It's now my turn to pay that price
It was your hatred I did dare
But life is not fair
There is a consequence for every dare
I wish I had not dared at all
That demon's price was rather tall
I have lost it all
I had thought I won
You had been done
In reality there was nothing to be won
A game with forever long shadows
A game with forever long sorrows
The game of shadows
A game with no light
A game where no one shines bright
A game must have light
Life is more than shadows
Life is more than just sorrows
Life is more than the game of shadows
