Hatred Comes in Waves
The ocean is a wondrous phenomenon. Filled to the brim with creatures yet to be subjected to the loathsome acts of mankind and in perpetual motion swinging to and fro repressing the bad and pulling in the good the ocean is a wondrous phenomenon. Lacking the grace and elegance the ripples of the ocean shower upon the world it is only natural for creatures so utterly repugnant as ourselves to carry out desperate attempts at capturing the ocean’s beauty. Craving communication with such a charming acquaintance we can only strive to reach her by pressing a porcelain skeleton of her debonair physique to our ears and hoping with every fiber of our being that we will be blessed with her sweet nothings. But these days society has created methods of transforming meaningless whispers into destructive shouts. They shout and shout even when their voices give out. Their bias cries of hatred continue to spill from between their lips even after the words have dried up and lie shriveled at the feet of those they curse. With actions so toxic even the ocean could not be bothered to swallow their accusations and sent them flying back. Toxic took a form in them and them is commonly known as the Westboro Baptist Church. Thrusting their beliefs into the lives of those who choose to live differently they push people away from Christ instead of inviting them in with love. They stride around and disgrace the graves of honored heroes. Throwing up signs with words carved into the fronts to increase the weight on the shoulders of those mourning they take pride in shrieking “God Bless Dead Soldiers!” and claiming that God is full of hate for those who lead lives separately from the way of the church when in all reality God is not possibly full of hate because God is love. The church is a wondrous phenomenon. Built from love yet furnished in prejudice, judgment, and hatred the church is a wondrous phenomenon. Mixing with the waves of the ocean, cleansed in the deep depths of the salty swaying tides the powers of the sea are a wondrous phenomenon. They fascinate with beauty as breathtakingly simple as they engulf entire communities. Providing life for the abundance of creates that live in its depths as effortlessly as it steals the life from those who dwell on the shores of the places we call home. The surface is refreshing, cooling, and the depths are purifying, but like all things, the ocean changes.
