Haunted by the past

What once was nothing but a memory

Just became my new reality

Time is standing still and tears rush down my face

Each tear holding a story on its own

A story that has never been told to anyone

I broke my silence and my heart breaks once again

Going back to the years where I first learned the meaning of pain

I’m stuck between going back or moving forward

Stuck at a crossroad that scares me to no end

These stories are waiting to be told

Deep inside I can hear them roar

I have so many questions with no answers

Trying to find closure but don’t know where to start

My mind won’t accept its new reality

It’s stuck in time trying to back up into negativity

I hit replay, back to the beginning

I broke my silence, does that mean I’m winning?

These demons have haunted me most my life

Took everything I had, plus my sanity

I’ve been stuck in a haze looking for clarity

These questions just won’t stop...why me?
