To Have a Voice
A moonless sky above her,
A grassless plain below,
She shut off the buzzing
Of her mind.
A blissful silence evaded the
Rough and tumble of
Waves crashing
Against the shore.
Chaos and freight attempting to
Permeate her serenity.
The clouds greyed and
Violet loomed before
Thunder roared and
Lightning shattered the sky.
She didn’t stir.
Her head is planted into the ground,
Roots growing from her ears and
entangling with the soil.
Her toes point towards the heavens,
Thanking the sky that rages.
Her arms crossed her torso
And her eyes hid in darkness
Like the lifeless
Underground without
Breath or voices.
But her air was warm
And crisp,
Her energy vibrant
With teal and lavender
Radiating around her.
She began to hum.
Her soft tune was light but
Intoxicating,
Conducting the clouds to swirl
And storm to pulsate.
The sky roared as
The rain poured
And showers tried to
Subdue
Her melody.
Discordant rumbling clashed
With her sweet song as
The vibrations battled,
A deafening orchestra between
war and peace.
Her heart embedded in the Earth,
A vibrato escaped
From her core.
Her lashes part as her eyes open,
Piercing the souls above.
Time faced defeat.
Raindrops froze midair,
Levitated by her gravity.
Lightning bolts suspend,
Defying the laws of nature.
The elements rewinded.
Rain fell upward,
The violet sky faded to navy,
Wind slumped to the dust.
But her notes never faded.
Her song persists.
The ground, now
Burrowed into her being,
Seeps into her harmony,
Once again a soft song.
She thanks the sky
For her life and fierceness,
As her skin begins to
Tingle with electricity,
And the waves start to crash once more.
