Have women achieved equal rights?
She brought me to life in the most painful way,
Society expects her to take care of her children,
But how can she do this if she doesn’t get the same pay,
I don’t think this is fair for and her burden.
Just as how the blacks got their rights,
And gained this throughout time in history,
She is still fighting the same fight,
The fight is for equality.
Her ancestors have all had the same way of life,
Lives were not completely fair for thee,
Yet all of this is still happening in our time,
We don’t even have to look at history.
They reach their goals in the same type of heights,
Yet they don’t get the same amount of respect as we,
And although they have been working on their rights,
They still have a long way to go –it can be seen clearly.
And even though the long fight has been hard and cruel,
These women do not give up easily,
They will not stop till they get their rights in full,
That will be the true definition of equality.
Our way of treating her may cause her to see disgust in the mirror,
She has to go through all of this on the daily,
Yet we still see them as our inferior,
When in reality she is the one that supported us in history.
When we were out fighting Hitler in the war,
Who was the one who took care of the country?
Because of her work reaching the factory’s production bar,
Is the reason that the Allies obtained the victory.
She has even played a major part in religion,
She was the one who gave birth to the most heavenly,
Yet her rights are still in horrible condition,
Even though she watched her son die with such cruelty.
She is the hardest working person I know,
She works with great efficiency,
And one day her rights will be able to grow,
The key is consistency.
She is looked down upon even when she joins men in the fight,
This is in memory of those who gave their life in the army,
So if we have to ask ourselves, “Have women achieved equal rights?”
If they had, we would not even be asking this question —obviously.
