Have you ever come to a blank

Have you ever come to a blank,

when you're writing on this empty slate-

covered with lights and pixels.  Can you

think straight when you have the world at your fingertips?

Once you have something down,  you keep on pressing delete.

You write words of love,  it's incomplete

Or its cliche that you would never submit.

You stare at the screen

with eyes sore. I'm by your side

I know the feeling, the sense of dread

when people are waiting,  but you have to sleep

You have small little messages from people you don't know,

wishing you luck and wanting to hear more.

The dread of fanfiction writers.
