Have you ever stopped to

Have you ever stopped to think,

To take a breath,

And everything falls apart?

Slowed down to be overrun,

Paused while the game plays on?

Standing still,

While the world moves,

Leaving us behind,

Caught in a moment,

In a time no longer the present,

You pause for a second and now you're in the past,

Time passing,

Fast,

Pause to stop and see,

Changing, shifting,

You'll be left,

Desperately,

You'll run,

Just a step behind,

What you're trying to find,

Reaching out you'll barely take hold,

Of what should be yours,

As you've been told.
