He almost asked me to prom
CC BY-NDI thought you were going to ask.
Funny, I know.
Shame on me, I guess.
I mean, how could I have thought that giving me
Gogol
was a declaration of love.
No.
Or when you gave me a CPR mask because
I want to be a medic and you are scared of hurting a person
when you're bringing them back.
I would have brought you back.
I would have kept you from Hades itself.
Silly of me.
How could I have thought that you had your eyes on me
When we laughed over chargers?
When we shared a look over the jar of poetry I keep in my bag.
Green is my favorite color.
The color of the sweater you always wear.
Absurd to think that maybe I didn't need to be the poet.
That I could rest my head on your shoulder for a while.
I mean, I should have known better,
Then to fall for the boy that
Almost
asked me to prom
