He does it because he loves me...

"Where do you think you're going? Go change right now."

He says this because he loves me; he looks out for me

- at least that's his response when I ask him.

"Block her number, unfriend her right now."

I know he's only doing this because she's no good.

He always spotted her negativity.

"Don't raise your voice at me. I told you not to use that tone."

I stepped out of line, it's my fault.

I apologize and he immediately softens.

But the next time this happens, he doesn't use his words.

He claims those never work on me.

Instead, his actions overtook, it hurts.

But it's okay.

He does this because he loves me.

He wants what's best for me.

This isn't what love looks like. 

Girls shouldn't hide away, 

begging for him to stay.

They shouldn't go out of their way to please him.

Abuse is emotional before it gets physical,

If he did it before, he'll do it again-

no matter what form it was in,

no matter how many times he apologized,

or said he loved you,

or promised to change. 

Don't be the girl, that's stuck in his world

regardless of how many times he said

"I love you."
