He Knew

They will see her walking down the halls,

Smiling and waving to everyone she sees.

As a comforting friend, she answers all the calls,

They will always find her, whether it's across mountains or over seas.

But you see... the outside only covers so much.

Little do they know, she cries herself to sleep each night,

The titles and reputations engulfing her thoughts.

Because perfection is what she is to everyone she knows.

But the thoughts overflowed her brain.

She weakened every step, with Perfection on her shoulder,

Until Perfection finally managed to shatter her with pain.

Until Perfection finally managed to make her feel colder.

So you see... the outside only covers so much.

Little do they know, she never went to sleep each night,

The imperfections and mistakes engulfing her thoughts.

Making a plan to escape from life.

But he began to see... the outside only cover so much.

He began to know, she never went to sleep each night,

He saw Perfection tearing her within.

That night, he stopped her plan,

Thrashing within his arms, she begged for release.

With tears, he never let go, never let her ran,

Tear by tear, he managed to put her back into one piece.

And now you see... the outside only covers so much.

Little do they know, now she peacefully sleeps each night,

Titles, reputations, imperfections, mistakes - she no longer cared.

For the brother came in that night and changed her view.

Thank you to the brother,

for never letting go, for he knew.

Pain, he knew.

Perfection, he knew.

But Happiness, he also knew.
