HE IS A MAN

He is a man And by that attribute he must be the one to propose The one to buy the ring and bend his knee I cannot do it What will society think of me? She is a whore, a wretched desperate girl seducing men But I love him too Why can I not be the one to propose? He is a man He is a man And by that virtue he must mask his pain and sorrow beneath a smile He must not even cry when he loses his loved one He must whelve all his emotion and be strong because teary eyes are for women Women deemed to be fragile and weak, and no, he is not He is a man He is a man Yes, but he is human He is a person and so he has emotions He has to let out pain, anger, love, laughter when he wants to He must be allowed to feel freely and not be infringed He has a right to act according to his emotions No, he is no robot He is a human being, a creature blessed with feelings He is a man
