He, Me, We, Plead for you please

Stricken by the shakes and tears I rock back and forth Rubbing my arms as if someone was actually holding me in their embrace Sweating profusely, heart is in a race PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Have mercy upon he He knows no better His mind is blocked and I’m here on my knees Gasping with pleads I’m met by the black night And of course nothing feels right I’m stricken by excessive fright Could this be the time? The night? The end to the light? I truly hope it’s not in sight I’m not ready, if this is the night, to see the light There’s so much more at steak So please just grant us this break All alone I contemplate With this silver chilly metal plate I pick it up and wait 273… my thumbs at a jittery pause 8… 2… Come on! You have nothing to lose! 5 5, no more finger dives, the numbers are now alive Now the options are open, and there’s someone to be heard “Hello this is Mary, How may I help you?” Can I please say some words? I need help This is not the first time, it has happened many times before, So many times I have lost the score “For how long?” She asks, I ponder… sadly… over 5 years The tears become uncontrollable He has become so much worse over these years, He has lost it, he says he’s in a dark place For heaven sakes! I can’t let his life go to waste! I need him more than ever, so please teach me to be clever, So I can get him to talk, empty out his mind and heart He’s been through it all Seen The Lord for his final call, Only to be told “There’s more I have in store, Go back and get your men and help prepare them for their heaven send off. I need you now, you have to stay strong and I will help you to carry on. I’ll be with you through the terror and bombs, to try my best to keep you calm” Bodies flying left and right, being unable to take off in flight Only left to see all those dead bodies in his hind sight No one to understand or be there to hold his hand, Something to be left with, him alone to stand To talk is to be weak, For help is defeat, But his family is the one who gets the beat From day to day, no one knows, what issues will start to unfold, Good and bad, sometimes sad, No warnings that are made to have Scary times at the drop of a dime, I only want to hold him and tell him he’s mine If only there were a sign, to tell us that everything will be fine, But I guess one day, but hopefully in the niche of time Every night I pray, as I lay my head to sleep Hoping translation doesn’t get lost in my weep It’s not easy being he, It’s not easy being me, If only things were different for he or me, But it would be another sucker, some other little fucker, screwed over by our armed forces, that don’t really help with positive choices I’m thankful that he’s alive, or I’m pretty sure I would have died, But each day is not the same and this nation should be ashamed, They’ve risked their lives for us all, and this is how we thank them, By punishing them for standing tall and getting the help needed by all This life is not easy, so don’t take it for granted I don’t think you could fathom what it’s like to be he or me Because this is what it’s like to be, The daughter of a soldier, In which he suffers from PTSD
