He Smiles

He Smiles as he looks in the mirror with intent

He Smiles as he sees the pimples, his braces, and his messy hair cut

He Smiles as he dresses in the outfit he wore Monday

He Smiles as he throws on his old backpack with his cubscout patches and heads to school

He Smiles as he takes his lunch in a brown bag and his coat dirty and worn

He Smiles because he knows he is himself

He Smiles because is happy
