He Struggles
He struggles to breathe
He gasps and dry heaves
A life like this
Is just tortures kiss
Cold hands
And hospital wristbands
And his crippling commitments
To his breathing treatments
And just when he's feeling alright
It doesn't last long
A cough and struggle for breath
Come prancing along
More cold hands
More hospital wristbands
And another inconvenient
Breathing treatment
Just when he's smiling
And feeling okay
Don't worry the pain comes back
To ruin his day
He struggles to breathe
He loves
He cares
Even in his pain
He always tries to be there
A life like this
Is just tortures kiss
He lived
We lost
With tears our eyes are glossed
Now his wings are spread
And he is flying on ahead
To watch over us
As we sleep soundly
In our beds
Even with his struggle
He lived
