He Wants To
He met her
At a diner
In the middle of nowhere
He met her
In her ripped jeans
And he wondered
How she got here
Like him
She's better then good
And she's got something
In her eyes
That makes him think
They're a lot alike
He sits down
Across from her
In the table
In the corner
And he wonders
How someone so beautiful
Got so busted
And now
As they sink
Into conversation
He wonders
How someone like her
Got here
She looks
Like she's looking for something
Someone
To find her
And change her life
And he suddenly wants nothing more
Then to be that someone
She cocks her head
To the side
And he thinks
She's the most beautiful thing
He's ever seen
A jaded beauty
With eyes so green
And so sad
She's got a mean mouth
And doesn't talk much
But she sets his skin of fire
With one touch
Of her hand
And he suddenly knows
That he's not going home alone
He's not going anywhere
Without her
Two strangers
Both crippled by life
Both lonely
So much
It's chilled their very bones
He looks across at her
A pretty girl
In an ugly world
And she doesn't say much
But as the time ticks on
Her mean mouth
Softens into a smile
And he thinks
He'll stay awhile
Because he knows
He doesn't know her
But he knows
He suddenly wants to
