He Was There

When I was hurting what seemed beyond repair,                                                                                         He was there.

When all I wanted to do was hide from the world that didn't really care,                                                   He was there.

When I felt lost and confused and that life was hard to bare,                                                                      He was there.

When I needed someone to make me smile, and just show me they were there,                                   He was there.

When I didn't want words of comfort or sympathy that people wanted to share,                                      He was there.

When I needed someone to help me forget instead of watching me in a sad stare,                               He was there.

When I needed to be happy and not continue in a depressed-like air,                                                     He was there.

When I needed someone to show me life can be good, even if it isn't fair,                                               He was there.

He is the reason I am happy again and have focus back in my life. A guy like him is rare.                   He was there.
