He who calls Me

I heard a bird call my name As it flew I followed as it came What was to be was lost What was not was now the same And so I followed he who called my name Into the abyss of endless trees I soon came and soon after my mind flooded within the trees With thoughts that binded and let me not be free But into the heart of darkness I still walked For all I could hear was this bird as it talked My name I could hear in the center of its song But my step seemed to reach a bit too far For as I stood in the dark The bird and my name were soon gone I sought refuge but found absolutely none All I had were my clouded thoughts I found no light, neither any hope for I was lost in the darkness no way to cope So now as the answer grew ever near I found my only escape was my only fear I had to melt in the shadows and take a name Become the forest, the darkness one in the same No more shall I follow the one who calls my name For the one who I should follow is the one who knows the heart, the soul, and the blood within my viens
