He Will

My next boyfriend will probably
Hurt me
Unlike you he’ll know how
To make it up to me
The pain he will cause not being
Equated to the physical pain
Underwent at your hand’s strike
He’ll only hurt me emotionally
Unlike you he won’t know of the
Forbidden story
He won’t know why I shake the
First time he moves into kiss me
Unresolved trembling at the end of
His finger’s touch
Wondering if I’m okay
We’ll talk
About why I tremble, he will hold me
Through my whole body cry he will
Whisper and say that it is going to be okay
Because he loves me, and is not going
Anywhere, something you never took the
Time to do for me, not to say
That emotional support was a service
You weren’t able to provide as
I bore witness in many instances in which
Emotional support was provided to anyone else,
Unwilling to support me
You let me tremble

He will be much
Unlike you who did not acknowledge
The trembling body you grabbed
In the darkness, sheets flying
Plowing through the night as if
There were no significance at all
Leaving my body there lifeless
Head on pillow, sleeping distance
At arms length
The mere sight of me repulsive to
You, but always your means for
Release I allowed this to happen
Over and over again until you
Decided to toss me aside as
I was not longer of use to you
Anymore, too far to provide the
Type of physical affection you
Required and not beautiful enough
To wait for, leaving me in
The dark, alone, waiting,
I’ve waited a long time and I’m
Fairly certain in stating that my
Next boyfriend will not leave
Me anywhere near as vacant
As you emptied me of my
Soul
My next boyfriend
Will find it,

Once more.
