Head Held High
My head swung low
as the world came
crashing down around me.
The worst news yet
filled my brain like
ocean waves crashing
against the shore.
But I raise my head
after a split second of
chaos and go on
about life like
nothing happen.
That’s all you can
do in a crude world.
No one is there to
care or nurture you
after you grow old.
