Heads High
For all my sistas and brothas living in this hateful environment
Just know to stay strong
I say sistas first because they were supposed to always come first
But in this world we rather leave em left with hurt
Get them pregnant and leave them with a child that doesn't know it's worth
Dry your eyes baby girl and keep your head high
It's a cold world and if you stay trapped in the bottoms
You'll shiver in the same spot you started
And yo child will too
I like to tell all young woman
That I don't know much of the struggle yall go through
But just know I got yall and God does too
It's a beautiful struggle and just someone out there will understand what you going though
Now for those kids growing up without a father
Please don't end up in court talking to your honor
Set yourself more then that
Don't give it up ladies
If he don't respect and love you he don't deserve that cat
Don't be mediocre on what the news presents us
Prove the facts
That were strong intelligent and that we come from the concrete and ain't ever goin back
You present yourself as a young king or queen
Don't always let that Apple fall too short from the tree
Negus means Royalty
Just listen to God and follow what you believe
You not the only one going through these things
Keep your head high
Let those eyes let everyone know that you will always fight
For my young men
Stay loyal and stay true
I know it's hard at times
But going into that gang just don't seem right
My brotha hear me out
You either gonna die or go to jail
There's only one simple way to put this about
I know you asking God why me
Got yo girl pregnant and pops somewhere on the streets
Moms strugglin
And you just feel like a bum just watching yo life fall without anyone to pick you back up from yo feet
I would say free my niggas but I don't got no niggas to free
I keep myself away from those possible negativities
It's hard in this world I understand that
But coming back home with a college degree is the best plan to carry yo people off of these streets
That kid that you scared to raise might follow yo feet
Please don't lay on that pool of blood and die
I put the kid in the middle because you and yo girl can determine what's best for his or hers life
This life of crime ain't right
Don't be born a statistic
Do what others can't do
Even if there ain't anyone out there that's got you just know I do
Because those As and Bs gon get you somewhere
Get that gun away from yo face
Yo life ain't over just yet
It take the strong to get back up from on to they feet
And the weak to stay on they knees
I advise you to keep yo head high
Because someone's going through the same struggle and still puttin up a fight
Fight for your life
