Headstrong

You will never be good enough.

A voice, familiar

Reiterates:

You will never be good enough.

A constant echo between the departed spaces where sensibility is lost,

The catacombs of my thoughts.

A girl who has no intentions to subside

She’s waiting there, incessantly repeating:

You will never be

Good

Enough.

I cannot always see her

But I know that physically, she is an exact replication of me.

I can always hear her,

Like an eternal ringing in my ears.

She is a hellion of the utmost kind.

The battle to silence her

Is renewed with each rising sun

But I cannot let her assault my worth any longer.

The time has come to be stronger than this demon,

To release myself from the chains of this anchor.

I am better than her derogatory opinions

And ridiculously high standards.

Her voice is my own.
