Healed Scars

Broken, shattered, crushed, destroyed.

That was my heart.

My dreams.

The future I had envisioned.

You promised you were different.

That you’d be the one to stay,

Always.

You said forever,

And I thought you meant forever,

But you meant until you wanted something else.

You moved on in a month,

And here I am still broken.

Here I am still recovering.

Here I am trying to fix myself.

But I’m thankful that I had this,

Because now I know how i deserve to be treated.

Now I know what I want.

Now I know how to heal.

The scars are still sore,

But their lessons make me strong.

And for that I’m blessed.
