Healing Poetry
Expressions of my life and love,
Exposed in a vibrant way.
Expressions of my worries, fears, and hates,
Engraved on white with a pencil of gray.
Expressions from deep within me,
Evident, set free like a captive or slave.
Expressions placed on a blank page,
Emotions of this writer, no longer in a cage.
Emotions inexpressible, unspeakable
To the common man.
Emotions he could never comprehend,
If he even tried to understand.
Emotions, wept or smirked from my thought to pen,
Soaked up by the paper from my willing hand.
Emotions, now free from my soul,
Might can comfort some other man.
Poetry, a beautiful skill
Expressing feelings I cannot share.
Poetry, a challenge to this competitive soul,
Giving me a reason to flare.
Poetry, of my thoughts, ideas, and feelings
The page becomes aware.
Poetry, to me simple yet complex,
A place where hidden emotions are rare.
