A Healthy Relationship

They are my pole when I grow, helping me stand until I can do it alone.

They are not always pleasant. They remain honest in a way I need,

Though initially a sharp pain forms, they allow me to put the best me forward.

A healthy relationship is a rough hand placed firmly on my shoulder

allowing me to understand that if I set my mind to it, I could even move a boulder.

Unhealthy relationships drown me in tears, while my strong ones become my sun, warming me and allowing the tears to run dry.
