Healthy Ties

Those fights They still echo in my ears Hiding with a step-sister from our parents harsh words A step-sister that always reminded me how ugly and fat I was After divorce between my parents, my dad began dating an old highschool friend Fights Resentment Fear Those friends They always left me I was never their first pick A friend that used me, bossed me around My own personal yo-yo friend, back and forth, back and forth After 7 years I couldn't handle it, so I left Betrayal Loss Fear Those days They still come around Hiding from my dark thoughts, my own harsh judgement Anxiety and depression clouded my view of the magnificence of life After months, it got worse, I employed self harm Pain Loneliness Fear No healthy relationships should ever include the word fear They should foster growth, rather than keep you from enjoying life Hold a strong footing in trust Because I love you should never be a justification or an excuse for ones actions Honesty Forgiveness Happiness
