Hear Me

I want you to hear my voice

And no, you won’t brush me off this time

Because all my life I’ve been in the back seat

But now you’re going to hear what’s on my mind

I’ve been told I’m a soft and timid soul

Quiet, and often shy

But I assure you; I’m quite the opposite

My mind is bold; my head is in the sky

I’m passionate about a lot of things

But there is one that beats out the rest

I love to motivate others

To make them realize that they are the best

Put your mind to anything at all

And you will get it no matter what

But slack off and procrastinate

And you won’t make the cut

People find it oddly amazing

When they see this fire inside

They can’t believe that such ardent words

Could come from a man so shy

So I tell you this with the utmost certainty

That I can accomplish anything

For mental toughness if half the battle

And the rest of it is doing

So do what you please with your life

It’s up to you; make a choice

I am happy no matter what

Because at the end of the day, you heard my voice
