Heart

Every time my heart breaks for someone I have known They take away a fragment to help repair their own In place of every stolen piece lurks a void of black Only to be brightened if they choose to love me back And if they choose to love me there comes more give and take Which will once again cause my heart to break With caution, time, and care the pieces will pretend That they have not been broken so that my heart will mend Every night I pray Lord as you watch over me Fill the gaps and crevices this life has done to me Please fullfill this promise as I promised you my soul Exhault this wounded heart and make it soft and whole And for all His precious children for as long as I shall live I will send away my heart until there's no more left to give
