Heart Beat Blues
I sat in the passenger seat
and listened to the drivers heart beat
their phone went BEEP
then their hand made the leap
as their eyes left the road
time slowed
the car began to swerve
as we entered the curve
no time to react
as we made impact
I then sat in the passenger seat
and listened to the lack of a heart beat
