Heart Break
You think you've gotten over it
You tell them you're fine.
But reality is
you're not.
Time moves on and you think
you forget.
You bury the pain
beneath levels of joy
happiness
and bliss.
But reality is
there's still pain.
And then
Something happens
It is random,
out of the blue
most people might not even notice
But you do.
And you end up back
where you started.
You thought you were over it
but you were wrong
All that buried pain comes up to
consume you
All those thoughts that one day
they'd be back
they'd walk through the door and tell you
all the fun they had traveling around.
You would give them a hug
and say
I missed you
Welcome home.
But all that
is a fantasy.
You realize
They will never be back
And that is when
you fall.
