The Heart is a Flower

the heart is a flower a natural thing like the hot summer sun the freshness of spring if a flower's forced open by the hands of a child the petals collapse he stands there beguiled if only he waited for the petals to open by the slow gentle touch of the sun and likewise we live, and go on as children awakening love, when friendship has merely begun as a flower takes time to blossom and grow, love also takes time to and flourish and glow love can't be forced on, hearts can't be forced open just thought i would tell you... just so you know. if only you'd see that...and open your eyes if only you'd do that, and not compromise the best things take time, haven't we learned? yet we go on with feelings, without a concern. so enough of this rhyming that i have compiled i'll just say these last words, and i'll make it mild. as a flower collapses in the hands of a child, so the heart breaks in the hand of the wild.
