The Heart of Man

The wild embraces the heart of man,

pulling at it, feeding its wanderlust.

Strong is its pull, and weak is his stand.

He longs for a far off land,

and dragged by his heart, into the world he is thrust

for the wild embraces the heart of man,

diverting him from his well thought out plans.

To follow the call becomes not a desire, but a must.

Strong is its pull, and weak is his stand.

The uncertainty of it all lays on him its brand

to the wild, to the world, he lays his trust

and the wild embraces the heart of man.

As time slips through his fingers, he clenches his hand

for travel, and searching drives his lust;

strong is its pull, and weak is his stand.

Man will not return until his journey he can no longer withstand.

But the journey is not unjust,

for the wild embraces the heart of man,

strong is its pull, and weak is his stand.
