Heart Like Mine

This heart of mine is fragile,

it's seen a lot of pain.

It's been ripped, it's been torn;

destined to never be the same.

I've tried glue, I've tried tape,

but it always falls apart.

I've tried everything, it seems,

but nothing works on my broken heart.

I was down to nothing,

with nowhere to turn.

Looking for answers,

my heart began to yearn.

I almost gave up,

I almost threw it all away.

Instead, I picked my head up,

and I started to pray.

I found the ultimate healer,

His name is Jesus.

He's the amazing doctor,

and He's the one who frees us.

I'm glad I have my God,

He's wonderful and divine.

He loves me regardless,

and He understands a heart like mine.
