Heart Strings

I always thought romance was something easy.

Something facile, something that could be acquired and maintained.

A thing that many could have without too much effort.

Not too much pain.

But unsurprisingly...

It’s not.

With romance comes the heart and soul.

The heart carries the heaviest load in the body.

The heart is an instrument of feeling.

An instrument of passion.

That stretches beyond its physical capabilities,

The heart is reminiscent of elastic.

It has no strings.

It is not easily played nor mastered.

Which makes romance difficult.

You don’t know what you want to say, how to say it, or what you feel.

You don’t know if any of those things.

Those statements or feelings you have within the confines of your heart, are even real.

So you take your time to peer upon it.

But all you see is a violin.

With no strings.

You’re clueless to what to do.

You have no guidelines.

No plan, no tutorial to romance.

No booklet to teach how to love.

Maybe that’s why they call love blind.

You go into it without a road to success in sight.

At some point, romance seems like a waste of time.

I don’t ask of much but I ask you shoo away that notion when it comes to mind.

Although it seems wasteful and a poor use of energy and thought.

I can promise when you fall in love with someone that deserves your love.

Someone that feels the same for you and loves to make you feel sublime.

Someone that wants to see the best in you. See you accomplish every dream or idea that you wish to pursue.

Someone that wants to see you shine the brightest.

Someone that wants you to become the happiest person on earth and then some.

That the overwhelming feeling is blissful.

Only then will the heart strings be easier to play.
