Heart vs Head

Beyond the exterior roars confusion

A rhapsody of complete destruction

When a heart and head fight

There’s no fair end in sight

Only pain, loss, and acceptance

Of a fate of higher importance

God speaks of perfection

Life speaks of rejection

All opportunities are not guaranteed

All paths are not straight

All choices are not right

But some are clouded

Shrouded

Covered

In the desires of a heart

But one must part

With either the beating

Or the thinking

Somewhere within, deep inside

The answer does hide

Whether subconsciously

Or decidedly

The choice has to be made

And the hurt laid

   Beside the road

Too bad the load

Continues to weigh down the bearer

Nothing suppresses the terror

Of picking the wrong path

And ignoring the opposer’s wrath

Is impossible

Is incomprehensible

Is remembered

Forever.
