Heart Vs. Mind

My heart still dreams of your love

Not necessarily your touch

My mind says don’t speak to you

I don’t want to feel the same

When I realize my heart is alone at this

My mind feels that pain

The agony of never getting rid of you

Burns my flesh

My body quivers ten times over

Realizing I still haven’t started fresh

Every year like clockwork

I remember the times we shared

I guess it doesn’t matter to my heart that my mind no longer wishes to care

My heart and mind never communicate

The signal is always down

My heart yearns for your love

In my mind, I don’t want you around

What can I do to shake this?

Feels like I’ve tried everything

I can’t seem to tune out your voice

Being as though you still make my heart sing

But I don’t want to feel a thing for you

My mind is through

So tell me, why does my heart still love you?
