Heart Wars

I just keep falling back into the same things

Over and over again

I make the same mistakes

Why?

Same heartstrings pulled every time

Why do I fall in love so easily?

Assumptions made from the very start,

That make my heart swell with eagerness and hope

But then it shrinks and shrivels up again

With the realization that it was all in my head

I assumed,

I created things in my head that weren't really there,

That never really happened

And now I'm in pain...
