The Heart In A Year
Summer
Your heart, it works hard.
It beats from morning shift to evening shift- all thorughout the day shift.
It carries your dreams in hopes for one day, your very life to lift.
But tradgedy strikes,
Your heart recieves three hard blows as it watches each person leave.
But society’s timeline wont stop long enough for your heart to grieve
Fall
Your heart learns.
From the times you had a ball, the unhealthy mistakes you both made the previous fall.
So you opt for a healthier lifestyle, for closure, you give it your all.
Your heart is ignored.
You don’t let your heart speak for its words are too strong to feel.
Education as a way to shield this heart you promise no-one will ever steal.
Spring
Your heart sees better days.
School is going better and your heart’s soul mate is found in the form of a roommate.
Now both hearts struggle to realize the worth of their physical state.
Your heart works overtime.
Pumping through a workout to make sure it lets no words out.
It works so hard to laugh aloud but all it wants to do is scream and shout.
Summer
Your heart is healing.
Despite the tough breaks and hard workouts your heart begins to understand self worth.
Something you should have known since birth.
Your heart is realizing now.
Everyday will be a challenge now that you have both chosen a happier path.
You’ve accepted now, that it takes both of you, working against the world’s wrath.
