Heartbeat

Feeling broken and torn A heart unloved, completely worn Maybe once someone cared, But their love for her was never shared She wants no longer to be depressed However, her love for him keeps her oppressed She’s tried to fight off this everlasting pain The monster eating her soul would never be slain The last resort for the pain to end Was to create a wound that would never mend Grasping the end of the blade, skin going pale Cutting into her skin, not letting anything fail Deeper it goes, blood spilling onto the floor Continuing to cut and blood continues to pour Remembering why she’s releasing this blood Tears stream down her cheeks in an overwhelming flood The blade drops to the floor as she falls to her knees “Let the pain end,” she silently pleas The throbbing pain on her wrist and the one in her heart Felt all the same and not far apart Tears continue to fall and stream down her face She knew no one should ever be in her place She hated this pain and no longer wanted it to endure Sadly believing, killing herself was the one and only cure Gripping the blade close to her skin Slicing deeper, creating a stream of blood ever so thin She falls down to the ground as the blood drains out Her soul slowly dying as her heartbeat goes out
