Heartbeat

What is this deep beating in my chest?
for this thundering music that wont allow me rest.
these muscles pulse, these eyes are filled, and veins bleed this beat.
this heart beat, heart beat, heart beat.
my heart falling in sync with the rhythmic clock.
it ticks with a heavy tock.
but one day, without a single say, it’d stop.
and i find my weighted heart begins to drop.
now, this present is now the past,
life seems to go by too fast.
she was alive one second, but now she’s not.
i think my heart has begun to rot.
so i write alone while mixing with the wall.
waiting for my true love’s call.
but what style of poetry can express,
this heart’s restlessness.
what is this heavy heart doing in my chest?
for i am doing my very best.
my blood looks the same, but it lacks life.
just only internal strife.
so i drip my memories onto the floor,
and she fades from my mind, drop by drop, leaving me forevermore.
what is this deep beating in my chest?
for this thundering music that wont allow me rest.
these muscles pulse, these eyes are filled, and veins bleed this beat.
this heart beat, heart beat, heart beat.
