Heartbeat

All I need is my heartbeat.

Every day it pounds to the beat of the drums.

I feel alive, even when the world around me is crumbling.

Even when it seems to shatter after every loss, it stays determined to keep moving.

I cannot give up, it will not allow it, pounding on telling me it will be alright.

Telling me there will one day be light.
