Heartbreak
Heartbreak,
People everywhere feel you daily.
You start with the youngest, most innocent children,
And never stop attacking until the day they die.
Endlessly seen in betrayal, death, violence,
You attack over and over and over and over.
Pain. Pain.
As a young child I was glass half full,
Optimistic on what life had to offer.
But now, now I see you every turn I take.
You have snuck up on me in some of my happiest times.
And brought an eclipse over the bright sun that once was.
However, you will not last.
You do not control me or my happiness.
You are powerful,
But you will go away with time.
I run from you,
I gain strenth,
I surround myself with love.
Love. Love is more powerful than anything.
Love in family,
Friends,
Love.
Love I see in the midst of the dark endless agony of this sinful world.
Love exists. Hope exists.
Heartbreak, you will come and strike again,
I have no doubt about this,
But I am prepared for you.
You make life hard and complicated,
But who would I be if life was easy and simple?
So I wait in this painful yet loving world for you.
Waiting for your sudden impact.
Waiting.
Best regards,
Emma
