Heartbreak

Heartbreak comes in many forms,

A lover, family member, best friend.

Something in your life becomes lost.

A pain like nothing else;

Incomparable to sprains, tears, pulls.

A pain that you will do anything to end.

It causes you to cry so hard that you cannot breathe.

It makes you to ache for the very thing that hurt you.

It makes you want to hide away in isolation.

It feels like torture.

Like something inhumane.

A pain nearly indescribable.

But it can be overcome.

And just like all hardships.

You become who you are because of it.

You become strong.

You become independent.

You become you again.

You stop yearning for the approval of others.

You stop questioning if you are enough.

You stop wondering what happiness is.

You learn to listen to yourself.

You learn to love yourself.

You learn to be happy with yourself.

Thank you, Heartbreak.

Thank you for teaching me lessons.

Thank you for causing me pain.

Thank you for making me grow.

Thank you for guiding me to acceptance.

Thank you for teaching me to understand.

I will face you again.

But until then,

Thank you.
